II.11. Stamping die – matrix , patrix

The stamping die for flaps consists of a matrix and patrix and was made of chisel steel, electrode grid with accuracy of app. 0,05 mm. In the drawing the actual dimension of the extrusion machine are presented. Additionally, the angles of the side walls are shown. 
The difference between the matrix (bottom part) and patrix (upper part) is app. 0, 20 mm on all vertical walls and equals the thickness of the paper used in production of the box. 
The depth of the matrix in its bottom storage section is 2,8 mm, whereas in its upper section it is 2,5 mm and the ledge part in 1,3 mm.  
The width of the matrix along its span (bottom part – the matrix) at the basis amounts to ….

In all corners of the matrix and the patrix right angles were applied in relation to location angles of the side walls. 
To avoid visible cockling of paper in the ledge section, one must extrude in a slightly damp paper or use more advanced technology.
